Employees, family and friends enjoyed a traditional Tamalada this Thursday the 29th as part of the annual celebration held by Maverick County Sherif, Tomas S. Herrera.
The Tom Bowles Detention Center was the venue for this year's event and a large crowd was at hand to join in the festivities.
This tradition has been in place since Tomas Herrera took over the position of Maverick County Sheriff.
Sheriff Herrera was accompanied by his wife Malena Herrera, who both wish nothing but the best for the community during this holiday season.
Employees of the Sheriff's office assisted in serving the meals and provided a plate for everyone in attendance, the celebration lasted 2 hours from 8: 30 to 10: 30 am,and also served as a reunion for many of the employees before having a long holiday weekend with families. The County employees will enjoy a long weekend, they will be off this Friday and Monday and will return to their duties on January 3rd 2012.
