The Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce has announced that the keynote speaker for the annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet will be Dr. Thomas Tunstall, Director of Community Economic Research, Professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Sandra Martinez, Director of the Chamber of Commerce, reported that Dr. Tunstall will be in Eagle Pass to offer a conference on the great economic impact that the petroleum industry will have in Maverick County and the larger region with the implementation of the Eagle Ford Shale project, which has brought large amount of investment in regions such as Dimmit, County, as well as others.
Sandra Martinez informed the News Gram that the annual banquet will be held on February 10, 2012, at the International Center for Trade of Eagle Pass and they are expecting attendance from local business members, public officials, chamber of commerce partners and members of the community who would like to learn more about how the petroleum industry will be impacting our community. The event will also serve to swear in the new board of directors for the Chamber of Commerce. The proud recipient of this year's "Citizen Of The Year" will also be named at the banquet.
