The Eagle Pass chapter of the Rotary Club International has been granted a $50,000 allowance by the room tax committee. The money will be used to plan and follow through this coming year’s Cinco de Mayo event. The Cinco de Mayo event is lauded as one of the biggest draws to our area, brining several high profile musical acts and thousands of “out of towners.” The room tax committee distributes money collected from hotel occupancy taxes throughout the year and then uses that money in events that promote Eagle Pass and Maverick County.
