City of Eagle Pass to Invest $60 Thousands On Garrison Street Clean Up Effort.

Authorities from the Department of Transportation met with Hector Chavez, Director of Public Works, this past Monday to discuss the present conditions of Garrison Street directly in front of Mall De Las Aguilas, an area that needs improvement.
According to Hector Chavez the initial meeting was merely to get permission from the state to start the project. He said that the projected cost for this repair would be around $ 60 Thousands dollars and he would like to finish the project as soon as possible. He further added that the conditions of the road are mainly due to effects of water on the drainage system from near by businesses. This same section of road was previously repaired 8 years ago but will get a much needed face lift from the city, the project will include plans for updating handicap accessible sections of the sidewalk. Mr. Hector Chavez also noted that the project should be initiated this week and should be finalized in 2 within 2 weeks.
