27 year old Andrea Veronica Huerta and boyfriend Antonio Mendes turned themselves in at the port of entry, after weeks of being reported as missing. At about 2pm Tuesday, the couple arrived via the pedestrian crossing at International Bridge 1, and appeared to be unharmed. Details about the couple’s experience in Mexico were not released by the Sheriff’s Department, who received the pair from Homeland Security Agents. At about 6pm that same evening, Huerta and Mendes were finally reunited with family who were extremely relieved to have their loved ones home and safe. The couple went missing on December 22, 2011.
