The majority of the County had no power for over three hours yesterday. An electrical transmitter alle-gedly gave out, leaving thousands of Maverick County families in the dark at about 5 am Wednesday morning. Affected areas included, Seco Mines, Deer Run, Siesta Acres, all of Veterans Blvd. and some south side colonias. Police and Fire personnel quickly assisted the situation as many traffic lights were not functioning. Schools also opened their doors allowing children to gather in school cafeterias while the situation was being addressed; luckily, the power returned in time for the student’s first lesson of the day, around 8am.
