Eagles Star Offensive Lineman, Christian Garcia #74, has been heavily recruited since the middle of his Junior Season. Many Universities have sought out and tried to acquire this Super Sized Tackle. In the spring he was invited to a pair of recruiting trips by UTSA. Recently, his family joined BIG CHRIS on two more exclusive trips. On January 13th, they traveled to San Antonio’s University of the Incarnate Word. The family was treated to a two day tour of the campus and dinner on the beautiful River Walk. Christian was impressed by the commitment to excellence the Cardinals were showing towards creating a top notch football program. The University offered Christian a scholarship to play Football and Track n Field. The end result of the scholarships offered to Christian would be a “FULL RIDE”. Next on January 20th, the Garcia Family traveled to Uncle Roger’s ALMA MATTER, Texas A&M Kingsville. There, the Javelina tradition and prestige of being a perennial powerhouse made impression as well. Kingsville also offered Christian a “FULL RIDE”.
Christian has received many accolades in High School. As a sophomore he made Varsity in Football and Track. As a junior he was named All – District Lineman and he was a State Qualifier in Shot Put. As a senior he was named Most Outstanding Lineman in our District and All State Academic Football as well as receiving the Laughlin Air Force base Scholarship for Outstanding Character. He is already at work on his quest to return to the State Track meet in May. Along the way Christian has maintained a 95+ GPA and has kept his morals in tact.
Wednesday was the National Signing day for all College Football Recruits. Christian made a difficult choice to make between the Universities that showed interest in his talent. He made decision to attend Texas A&M Kingsville in front of family and friends at the EPHS gymnasium.
