This evening, members of the EPISD Board of Trustees will meet. Among other issues the popular issue of b-weekly pay schedules will be among the most viewed on the agenda which could change as soon as March.
Lupita Fuentes, Board President informed The News Gram that the issue will be revisited at tonight's meeting as well as a presentation on the benefits of continuing with the monthly pay schedule.
She said that after this presentation, the board could re-open the item for a vote on whether or not to revert to the bi-weekly schedule that has been in place since the early 1980's.
According to district authorities, the new system has affected the family economy of all district employees, who have come to EPISD board members to request the change.
The monthly pay schedule was put in place following significant cuts by the State of Texas.
The item was analyzed in January when a 4-3 vote rejected the change citing the economic benefit of doing so.
If a favorable vote is reached for the employees of the EPISD, the system may revert as soon as March.
