Maverick County Judge David Saucedo informed The Eagle Pass News Gram the District judges have not set a date for naming a new County Auditor, since Carlos Pereda retired from the position he occupied for 18 years.
He commented that for the time being the Auditor's department is busy putting things in order to begin with a firm control over expenditures and payment for services rendered.
He said that funds allocated for county projects have been put on hold as the Auditor's department is working on establishing the new system for the approach of the new Auditor. Whoever is own money by the county are asked to remain calm, payments will be going out in a few days.
He also went on to add that the changes which will go with the subsequent addition of the new Auditor will take up to two months, to where they're sure they are aware of every aspect of the accounts in order for the department to begin to function regularly.
Judge Saucedo commented that he has not been notified by when the District Judges will make the announcement about who's been hired as the permanent replacement for Pereda.
